Our mission is to help you realize your dream of authoring a quality music book.

We a group of musicians, artists, editors and typesetters, who have been in the music publishing business for over thirty years. We’ve worked with countless artists and authors in all music genres. Our work can be found with every major music print publisher including; Hal Leonard Corporation, Warner Bros. Music, Cherry Lane, Mel Bay, Berklee Press, Musicians Institute, Alfred Publications, Homespun Tapes, Fleamarket Music and more. We produce books from manuscripts and files cover-to-cover, with all music engraving and text typesetting, photos, illustrations and diagrams.

We publish songbooks, method books, children’s books, sheet music, how-to books, chorals, solo instrumental books, study guides and workbooks.

Music Instruction Books are one of our specialties.
We enjoy assisting music teachers in compiling and editing their curriculum from manuscript to completion.

Charylu Roberts, Owner, O.Ruby Productions, combines her musical knowledge and performing experience with exceptional design, graphic, and typesetting skills. Dedicated to excellence, her imaginative and meticulous work can be found on music books sold worldwide.

Since starting her desktop publishing business in 1988, she has contributed to over 700 books and instructional videos.

Her clients have included the Who’s Who of music print companies, music magazines, textbook publishers, instructional music video and DVD companies, including: The Hal Leonard Corp., Warner Bros. Music Publications, Mel Bay Publications, Homespun Tapes & Videos, Hot Licks Videos, Musician Magazine, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, Berklee Press, and the Yamaha Corporation.

Roberts is highly proficient on Finale, Sibelius, and PhotoScore music software programs, and numerous software graphics and typesetting programs; including InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, QuarkXpress, and Adobe Illustrator. She was given the prestigious Paul Revere Award for Music Book Graphic Excellence in 2003 and 2004 for Hal Leonard Corporation's Amazing Phrasing series, and Stride and Swing Piano.

One of Roberts’ unique talents is setting tablature, not only for guitar, but for all fretted instruments: bass, ukulele, mandolin and banjo. She is a consummate musician—a keyboard player and arranger in a multitude of styles.

Independent Editor and Consultant, Ronny S. Schiff, is a well-respected musicologist, author, music book producer, musician, publisher, and audio music programmer. Over 2,000 music books and books about music bear Schiff’s name as editor, co-writer, agent, publisher, or author. Several of her music books have received the distinguished Paul Revere Award for overall concept and design excellence, including Beatles’ instrumental collections and Quincy Jones’ Jook Joint. She’s produced books for and worked with major artists in every area of rock, pop and jazz. She was on staff at Warner Bros. Publications, Almo Publications, Cherry Lane Publications, Dick Grove School of Music and Hal Leonard Publications.

For Yamaha Music Division, Schiff was chief editor for the massive Music in Education project. She has edited and represented many trade books on music that have enjoyed multiple printings including John Braheny’s Songwriting: The Craft & Business, Paul Zollo’s Songwriters on Songwriting, Dick Weissman’s How to Make a Living in Your Local Music Market and Dr. Richard Niles The Pat Metheny Interviews.

She recently served for 10 years as Vice President of Audio Programming for DMI Music, where she established the Inflight Audio Programming Division by winning the prestigious bid for United Airlines in 1997 (and subsequently Air Force 1 and 2). Her Inflight Division won the Avion Awards from the World Airline Entertainment Association in 2001—First Place Overall Channels and Second Place Individual Channel—and placed in the top three in both categories for five years running.

For DMI’s Private Label Radio division, Schiff programmed for luxury resorts, restaurants, retailers, and spas. She was a member of the DMI Music team that was awarded the AARP music-branding initiative. For the Disc Marketing Special Products division, she continues to produce CD compilations for their targeted clientele. 

Schiff is a Past President of the California Copyright Conference, past member of the Boards of Directors of The Association of Independent Music Publishers and L.A. Women in Music. She is a member of The Recording Academy and NAMM, and has taught Music Business and Music History courses at UCLA Extension, plus Music Business seminars at Cal State Northridge, Pierce College, Cal Poly Pomona, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. Her undergraduate major was in Secondary Music Education with a minor in English. Her main instrument was viola, and she continues to play guitar, ukulele, and fiddle.

In addition to Ronny Schiff Productions, she is currently counseling students weekly at Musicians Institute and has been appointed to the Curriculum Committee for the establishment of a Masters Degree in Music Business at California State University at Northridge.
